The HPS
The History and Political Science Society is one of the registered societies in SRCC, with a legacy of 94 years. We work on the motto of “Reviving the past, Decoding the present, Creating the future”.
HPS serves as a platform open to students from all academic disciplines, interested in Public Policy, Research, governance, diplomacy, decision-making, and UPSC. We welcome diverse perspectives and encourages meaningful dialogue across all domains. We offer opportunities to broaden your understanding of the world while developing critical thinking, research aptitude, critical & analytical reasoning, professional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
We are the only platform in our institution to work for the betterment and support of UPSC and Public service aspirants in our college, through curated mentorship from industry-experts, free resources and guidance.
Through sessions with distinguished speakers, civil-servants and eminent personalities, panel discussions, debates, policy simulations, research initiatives, publications, Live projects, workshops, quizzes, and interactive events, we extend knowledge beyond books.
We strive to nurture informed, responsible, and socially conscious individuals who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society and engage with the challenges of an interconnected world.

Our vision is not merely to study history and politics, but to inspire individuals who understand the world, value ethical leadership, and embrace diversity of thought. HPS is committed to supporting students who aspire to make an impact in public policy, international organisations, academia, research, diplomacy, social entrepreneurship, and global development. We believe that meaningful change can be driven from every profession when guided by knowledge, empathy, and a sense of responsibility.
WHAT WE DO
We help members equip the skills needed to address real-world challenges. We organize interactive workshops, events, curated mentorship and guidance sessions with industry-experts, civil servants and eminent personalities. We refine your marketing skills, corporate and professional communication skills, research skills and inter-personal developmental skills like leadership, analytical thinking, and teamwork etc. through panel discussions, debate, publications, live projects and sessions.
